Welcome to R Legacy Australian Terriers!

We’re a small, passionate breeder located in Buffalo, New York, dedicated to raising and showing Australian Terriers. Our love for this spirited, intelligent, loyal, and acrobatic breed began years ago with our very first Aussie, Roxy. R Legacy is named in her honor and reflects our commitment to preserving the best qualities of this wonderful breed.

We’re excited to share that we recently welcomed a beautiful litter of five red puppies—three girls and two boys—and we’re now looking for loving forever homes for them.

If you’re interested in adding one of these special pups to your family, please reach out to us via the contact from below. We’d love to hear from you!

About the Australian Terrier

The Australian Terrier, affectionately known as the "Aussie," is a small but mighty breed with a big personality. Originally developed in Australia to work as a vermin hunter, watchdog and companion, this sturdy little terrier is known for its courage, intelligence, and spirited nature.

Standing around 10 to 11 inches tall at the shoulder, Australian Terriers are compact and low to the ground, with a harsh, weather-resistant coat that comes in shades of red, sandy, or blue-and-tan. Don’t let their size fool you—they are alert, confident, and full of energy.

Aussies are incredibly loyal companions and thrive on human interaction. They are affectionate with their families, get along well with children, and are often described as “big dogs in small bodies.” Their intelligence makes them quick learners, though their independent streak may require a patient and consistent approach to training.

Whether they’re competing in agility, patrolling the backyard, or curled up beside you on the couch, Australian Terriers bring heart, humor, and a spark of adventure to any home lucky enough to have one.
